Person-Centred Interactions Learning Series

Overview

The Person-Centred Interactions Learning Series strengthens practical skills and builds provider confidence in delivering person-centred care that is culturally appropriate and trauma informed. Training focuses on an Expanded Person-Centred Framework with the goal of honing participant awareness and building practical and reflective skills.

Scenario-based learning, mentorship and role playing expose participants to an inclusive array of patient journeys and experiences and provide opportunities to strengthen skill sets to advance health equity through culturally appropriate and trauma informed care.

Format: A virtual program consisting of five x 2.5 hour sessions, for a total of 12.5 hours. Action periods follow each session.

Program Credits: Consideration is being given to certification from The College of Family Physicians of Canada.

Eligibility: Participants should be familiar with health and/or human services and be in a role with opportunities to expand their skill sets to provide a supportive environment for patients / clients.

  • Mentorship from HIA Faculty
  • Recorded sessions to refer back to
  • Practical Tool Kit to support continuous application in the learner’s setting
